Halton Regional Police Use Video to Raise Awareness About Distracted Driving.

The Halton Regional Police have produced a video to raise awareness about distracted driving. The graphic video shows the consequences of distracted driving. The goal of the PSA by the Halton Regional Police is to continue to educate drivers about the perils of texting and driving and being distracted behind the wheel. The video was released to the public during Crime Prevention Week which was held November 6-12, 2016. The service was also released in local movie theatres during the awareness week.

The idea for the video was developed with the input of police officers of the service’s Collision Reconstruction Unit. This particular unit of the sees first hand the results of texting and driving. Initial investigators see the messages received on the victim’s phones during the investigation.

Halton Police confirm that the region’s residents are concerned with traffic safety and consider it to be a priority. Halton officers will continue to focus on distracted, impaired and aggressive drivers.
