Young Drivers Kamloops Driving School

Kamloops Driving School with ICBC Approved GLP Programs 

Young Drivers of Canada has a philosophy when it comes to collisions, which is that accidents are predictable and preventable. What this translates to is that the majority of the consequences of a crash can be avoided, including fatalities, injuries and insurance claims. 

Through this approach, Young Drivers of Canada teaches its students effective seeing habits and how to predict and avoid any potential hazards experienced on a day to day basis when driving. Students are put through situations that can be seen as high risk with their instructors and are taught to identify those risks. More importantly, habit correction and ultimately better driving skills incorporating the Collisionfree!™ Approach for a lifetime.

The Collisionfree!™ Approach is delivered through a variety of learning platforms including classroom instruction, one-on-one in-car, and video instruction. This varied means of teaching students ensures that students are prepared and given the proper skills to stay collision-free.

We offer ICBC approved GLP programs which include YD's exclusive Co-Driver Training for Parents.  

By taking this program, the student is eligible for a 6-month reduction in their "N" licence as well as receiving 2 high school credits.  

We also offer in-car packages to help students with any needs they might have.  This could be: 

  • road test preparation
  • parking
  • confidence building
  • defensive driving
  • emergency maneuvers

...and anything else a student isn't feeling comfortable with.

We also strongly encourage students to take winter driving lessons.  Winter in Kamloops is a shorter season than most provinces but this means we get less experience in winter conditions.  Let your first time driving down Pacific Way on icy roads be with a trained professional and not by yourself! How To Find Young Drivers Kamloops:

At Kamloops Young Drivers, we use a professional office space to teach our classroom sessions. Our driving school is located at 201-444 Victoria Street, in the Highlander building. We are a quick walk from the Lansdowne Bus Exchange so for those students coming to us on transit we have excellent access. Please note that this is a training facility only.  We are right across the street from the Library and Kamloops Art Gallery. Take the elevator up to the second floor, hang a left and look for the YD sign on the door. We look forward to seeing you!

As our company responds to COVID-19, two central pickup points are used for in-car lessons in Kamloops:
1- Aberdeen Mall Sport Chek entrance
2- Plaza Hotel parking lot (405 Victoria Street)
