How Young Drivers of Canada Prevents Distracted Driving

Young Drivers of Canada has developed a Collisionfree!™approach designed to reduce and react to the dangers of distracted driving, through a 3 part program:

Part I -We Teach to Identify and React to Risks.

The first step to combating distracted driving is that we educate students on how and where to look for risks - to themselves, to other drivers and to pedestrians. This is both a visual acuity activity, as well as a mental approach, and Young Drivers teaches habits that develop the correct discipline to prevent injuries and to react through training, if the risk is unavoidable. Young Drivers of Canada training is designed to prepare students to anticipate and deal with dangerous situations.

Part II - We Train the Mind.

Cognifit® cognitive brain training that's only available through Young Drivers of Canada, trains your brain on how to deal with and limit driving distractions. We start with an assessment and then train memory and other cognitive abilities through game theory to achieve laser sharp cognitive driving abilities that are able to deal with distracted driving and more.

Part III - We include Practicing Emergency Maneuvers.

It pays to be prepared! Sometimes the consequences of distracted driving cannot be avoided, so we teach what to do in these emergency driving situations. In-car emergency avoidance instructions are offered ONLY by Young Drivers of Canada as part of its core curriculum, by the best certified instructors in Canada. We actually take you into controlled situations so that you can experience and practice what to do in the event of a real emergency.

The Young Drivers Approach

As Canada’s number one driving school, Young Drivers of Canada believes that the majority of collisions are both predictable and preventable. That means the majority of injuries, fatalities, property damage costs and insurance claims are also avoidable.

With the Collisionfree!™ and Cognifit® Approach, we diagnose driving habits that may produce collisions. Then we teach a new way to see and respond to the road. Our programs are a unique blend of classroom training, video instruction, and one-on-one, behind-the-wheel experience.

Everything we teach is based upon seeing the road, the hazards, the other driver, even the weather, in a new collision avoidance mode. Driving habits that repeatedly put drivers in high-risk situations are identified, corrected and replaced with sound Collisionfree!™ driving tactics.
